Starline SRS 5013	Various Artists	No One’s Gonna Change Our World
1969 December 12, Copies of this England-only release by Various Artists were imported into Canada by Campus and copies feature a yellow Campus Import sticker on the front cover. This LP was released in England on December 12, 1969 and copies would have been imported to Canada shortly thereafter. These imported LPs were sold in specialty record shops only.






CN 2007	The Beatles	The Beatles Featuring Tony Sheridan
Contour records (Pickwick). Imported form the UK, it has a yellow sticker on the front saying "Imported by Almada Corporation, Montréal"


6886 556	The Beatles	The Beatles First And Tony Sheridan
Impact. Imported from France, the LP has a gold sticker saying " importation". This record was part of a series of compilation LPs that featured many artists, both french and foreign, Like Johnny Halliday, Joe Cocker and Chuck Berry. Because of their close relations to France, this record was probably imported mostly to the province of Québec.


PCS 3042	The Beatles	Please Please Me
Some albums from the UK catalogue were imported in the early 1970s, like the Please Please Me album on the black and silver "one mark" label. An import sticker was sometimes placed on the cover. Those LPs were protected by a loose plastic wrapper.






CPCS 104	The Beatles	Beatles VI
Some UK "export" LPs were shipped to Canada, like this version of the Beatles VI on the black and yellow Parlophone label. Importing this album can seem like an odd choice today since Canada already produced this album at the time.

May 26 1976, cream colored label promo imported from the USA has the stereo/mono mixes. NOTE: Canada did not import the Helter Skelter / Helter Skelter (mono / stereo) similar promo that was issued in the states a few months later.

4506	The Beatles	Girl / You're Gonna lose That Girl
1977. Sleeves were prepared in the USA for this intended "Love Songs" single, BUT NEVER WERE THEY PRODUCED IN CANADA. Some of those deleted sleeves were later sold on the black market in the states and made their way to collectors hands here in Canada.

- -	The Beatles	Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab albums
In 1977, a California based company called Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab started to produce hi fidelity albums pressed in Japan from masters sent to them. Those albums were distributed in the USA and were available in Canadian stores as well. All the UK albums were issued by MFSL.

The Picture Disc version was not pressed in Canada, while some copies were imported to Canada.


B 5439	The Beatles	Leave My Kitten Alone / Obladi Oblada
1985. Sleeves were prepared in the USA for this intended "Sessions" single, BUT NEVER WERE THEY PRODUCED IN CANADA. Some of those deleted sleeves were later sold on the black market in the states and made their way to collectors hands here in Canada.

C1 91135	The Beatles	Past Masters
While CDs were pressed in Canada, LPs were imported from the UK - Even though albums were made in the USA, EMI Canada seem to always have prefered importing these new releases from the UK. Double gatefold album, purple label.


NR 858348	The Beatles	Baby It's You
1994. EP - Paper picture sleeve, US copies were imported to Canada, same lineup as the CD.


PCSP 726	The Beatles	Live At The BBC
1994. Double LP set, gatefold with custom inner sleeves. The LP edition was available in Canada as a UK import. USA pressings wer also imported to Canada


NR 8584977	The Beatles	Free As A Bird
1995. This US single was imported to Canada. The vinyl contains only 2 songs, compared to the CD single which has 4. Paper sleeve, small spindle hole. Some rare copies (possibly for jukeboxes) with large spindle holes (see picture) were also sold in stores; this copy was sold in Quebec City at Sam the Record Man's. At least 4 copies have been confirmed in Eastern Canada with the large spindle hole. Without making this a Canadian only variation, there seems to have been a certain quantity that was shipped here this way.

Sent to college radio stations around North America, issued in a silver picture cover, paired with a plain white paper inner sleeve. This 12 inch LP was imported from the USA.

1996. This US single was imported to Canada. The vinyl contains only 2 songs, compared to the CD single which has 4. Paper sleeve, small spindle hole.

Double LP gatefold cover with booklet. The LP edition was only available in Canada as a UK import. LPs were imported from the UK, but CDs were imported from the USA. Some issues featured a simple CD, as others had a 5.1 audio DVD also included. 4 track Promo sampler CDs were sent to radio stations but those promos were imported form the UK



R 6813	The Beatles	Paperback Writer / Rain
Special limited issue (1000 copies) for the 2010 Record Store Day on April 17. Many artists published limited edition singles for the event; those records were only available for importation through INDEPENDANT record stores. This record has the particularity of being the first vinyl issue of the remastered Beatles tracks. The US copies (issued on May 18, 2010) are very similar to the UK copies, but it is estimated that they were pressed in quantities of around 4000. Canada imported copies before the US release date, so it is most likely from the intial 1000 UK copies. Lennon and Harrison also had exclusive releases for the event; the Lennon single bag with 3 singles (Mother, Imagine and Watching the Wheels) and a poster and 3 postcards. The bag was limited to 7000 copies and were individually numbered. Harrison saw his All Things Must Pass numbered box set pressed for the event. Copies were individually numbered.

5099968004576	The Beatles	Record Store Day Box Set
April 2012, on Record Store Day, Canadian independant record shops had the chance to order the cool red box set of Beatles 45s. This set was available in the USA a few months back, in late 2011, but were made available in Canada for the event in April 2012. The box includes four reproductions of Ticket To Ride / Yes It Is, Hey Jude / Revolution, Something / Come Together and Yellow Submarine / Eleanor Rigby, featuring the original labels and picture sleeves, a poster and a 45 adapter. What is particularly cool about this box set is that it features remastered versions of the songs for the first time on vinyl, but mostly, this means that the Hey Jude disc features the "new" longer ending (more than the inscribed 7:11) only found on the mono remastered CD box set issued in 2009. Last year's special release also featured remastered tracks, now making a total of 10 remastered songs offered on vinyl in Canada. For this release though, the record was imported to Canada from the USA instead of the UK. NOTE: In the USA, the Target department stores sold exclusive releases of four new remastered 7 inch 45s with picture sleeves. These releases were Can't Buy Me Love, Help!, Hello Goodbye and Let It Be and were not available in Canada at anytime, but make for a total of 18 remastered tracks available on vinyl (worlwide).

45-R-4949	The Beatles	Love Me Do (50th Anniversary)
Imported from the UK, this 45 features the remastered versions of the tracks. The reissue of this single has created a certain controversy as the first issue from October 5, 2012 featured the wrong version of Love Me Do (the one with Andy White on drums) as well as a wrong catalog number for the B-Side (R 4714). EMI "quickly" sent a recall letter to fix the mistakes, and was soon re-released, while in Canada, the release was pushed back to October 30. This corrected single did indeed feature the right audio, but they failed to fix the catalog number mistake. The corrected version having been released in other countries earlier than October 30, Canadian collectors wondered if they would get the mistakenly corrected single, or a possible 3rd generation properly corrected single. As of now, no completely corrected version exists. Visually the two versions are indistinguishable, so besides listening to the records, only the matrix numbers give indication on what version the record is. The orognal mistake version with Andy White has the BC88258-01A1 matrix number, while the corrected version with Ringo on drums has the BC91232-01A matrix number.

TBD	The Beatles	Magical Mystery Tour
On October 9, 2012, Apple released the reissue of the Magical Mystery tour film on DVD and BlueRay. For the occasion, a special box set was available, including the original UK double EP on vinyl. This was imported to Canada in very small quantities. Note: image source: www.thebeatles.com

TBD	The Beatles	Remastered LP Box Set
On November 13, 2012, this box set of the remastered albums were released on vinyl for the first time. Albums could be bought separately or as a box set with a book. The stereo LPs replicate the original albums with posters, inserts and custom inner sleeves. The LP -sized book is written by Kevin Howlett and reserves a chapter for each album, with insight on how the remasters came to be. The album listing contains all the UK format albums usually found on CD and box sets previously issued for the past few years, but with the particularity of issuing for the first time in North America, the first four albums in stereo on vinyl. Not actually a Beatles record, but an experimental sampling project by Paul McCartney that features sequences of the Beatles in the studio. No Canadian pressing was made, but all copies sold in Canada were imported from the UK.

Released on 09 09 09, limited edition CD Box Set containg all the albums in mini-LP reproduction format, everydetail is there, from the construction of the sleeves to the inner sleeves. Contains the original UK mono mixes and original UL 1965 mixes for the first time on CD. The Box set included the album "Mono Masters" which is the mono equivalent of ast Masters, with a slightly different lineup. It does feature a unique longer edit of Hey Jude. This box was only made in Japan and was exported worlwide.

- -	The Beatles	USB Remasters
Apple shaped USB stick containing the remastered albums (14 stereos as well as the remastered CDs visual items: 13 mini documentary films about the actual albums, stunningly replicated original UK album art, expanded liner notes and extremely rare photos). Only 30,000 have been made. Most likely imported from the USA.(TBD)
